Our Mindful Philosophy
Mindfulness is about truly seeing the world as it really is, in this moment, experiencing it without expectation and then letting it go. Moment to moment awareness, of this repetition, this kiss, this smile, this beauty, allows us to truly give ourselves to it.
When we meditate on the fact that everything in the universe changes, we are allowed to let go of our attachments and move with the flow of the universe. Life isn’t meant to be permanent, it is meant to be experienced. Love and let go. Laugh and let go.
So, What is Mindfulness Exactly?
- Mindfulness is a state of mind that allows us to become highly sensitive and aware of our thoughts, feelings, physical states, or consciousness itself.
- Mindfulness is the practice of becoming fully aware and accepting* of what's happening at the present moment; to live in the "now." By being highly attuned to the present moment, we begin to see both inner and outer aspects of reality as aspects of the mind.
- Mindfulness is not dogma and can be adapted into anyone's life regardless of their religious background or culture.
Live in Truth
Living in truth, not seeking truth, is the point of mindfulness. "Seeking" implies that you are looking to the future for some answer, for some achievement, whether it be money, relationships, possessions, knowledge, status.. or even spiritual attainment. As long as you are seeking you are not available to the present moment.
*Acceptance is not weakness. There is great strength in it. Acceptance frees you internally of the situation. The pain that you create is usually some form of nonacceptance, some form of unconscious resistance to what is.
Mindfulness Changes Everything...
Mindfulness helps to make all activities more meaningful. Through mindfulness, we can learn to direct and utilize our energy in ways that we are only beginning to understand...
Mindfulness reveals the true nature of ourselves and the events/things in our lives… without any judgment or resistance. As a result, we start to see the world as it really is. Solutions to our "problems" flow to us without any effort, and life begins to look like a playground.
Although mindfulness is an ancient technique for the exploration of self, modern science is beginning to appreciate the far-reaching benefits of this sort of exploration. Research by the Institute of Noetic Science, as well as many other researchers has verified the power of exploring and nurturing the inner self. They state that a person can condition oneself to experience transcendent cognitive functioning, and adapt/cope with life in a positive and holistic manner through mindfulness.
These ideas and potentials for the human experience have been confirmed by various researchers studying consciousness, the central nervous system, quantum physics, and neurology. In addition, mindfulness practices have been established further in the recent explosion of the mind-body approach to healthcare and treating many emotional and psychological disorders, unresolved trauma, and chronic pain disorders.
