Best Meditation Books Comparison
If you are a beginner in meditation, I would suggest “Wherever You Go, There You Are: Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday Life” by Jon Kabat-Zinn. In my opinion this is the best meditation book for beginners available at this point in time. It was published in 1994 and rated as a bestseller. To date, about 750,000 copies of this book have been sold. Even after all these years of its publication, the book continues to change the lives of people for the better.
“We’re All Doing Time: A Guide to Getting Free” by Bo Lozzof is one of the best meditation books of all-time, I would highly recommend this book. Fun fact, it is also known as “The Convict’s Bible”. This is a remarkable book, which has helped in bringing people like you to great extremes of peace and tranquility. This book has been translated into 5 different languages. So, if you want you can even practice your language skills.
If you are taking your time to nourish yourself and your soul then why not try “The Spirit Almanac: A Modern Guide to Ancient Self-Care” by Emma Loewe and Lindsay Kellner. This is the book which can help you and make your journey of peace a lot easier. After reading this modern meditation book, you will feel more grounded, more creative, and more in touch to your natural sense of knowing.
Of course, meditation is for kids too!. Did you know that some schools are having children meditate in place of having detention when they break the rules? The results have been very positive so far, and for that reason I wanted to recommend this as one of the best meditation books for kids. “The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child’s Developing Mind” by Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson is the best book on mindfulness-based meditation for children that we have been able to find thus far. Harvey Karp, M.D. said the book will provide “Simple, smart, and effective solutions to your child’s struggles” which sums it up very efficiently.
“Good night Yoga: A Pose-by-Pose Bedtime Story” by Mariam Gates is very operative if you are looking for something to help you in getting a better night’s sleep. This book is a good meditation book for beginners as it is a fun yet wholly practical book.
I hope our meditation book review has been helpful to you and gives you some easy choices to start your meditation journey from. For me, meditation has been an absolute life saver. It changed everything and has made me more creative, present, and just satisfied in general. Just to sum it up once more, in my opinion the best book on mindfulness meditation is “Wherever You Go, There You Are: Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday Life” and “We’re All Doing Time: A Guide to Getting Free”. The other books are great too, but this is my personal favorite.
As I mentioned above, meditation is benefiting kids as well, so why not help them get into it at a young age and have an easier happier life. The best childrens book on meditation mentioned above was The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child’s Developing Mind. I hope that you will bring them along on your journey too!
